Okay, tonight I attended the planning/zoning commission meeting in regards to my conditional use permit for our new business venture.... and they made the recommendation to the City Council! YEA! So, next week the Council will approve it.......so,

Andy Jay has been acting like a teenager lately.... lots of negativity, and general crabbiness. I have had many talks with him about his thought processes. So, last night, much later than he should have been up. He came to my room and says while hugging me, "Mom, I am sorry that I was a jack-wagon, I love you Mommy!"

Not at 100% mind you, but back to this little fish bowl of my life. You see, Mr. Green-Goo-Bag was in dire need of removal.... and is gone now! Dr. took it out at about 1:00 Wednesday afternoon, then I went to recover. It seems that I had some gas build up, which caused great distress to me! Call me, I will give you the whole scoop! :o)
Anyhow, Ma was here with us yesterday and over night. Jeffey is here with me now watching the History channel and being my "water boy". Meggie is trying to help, but finally fell asleep beside me on the sofa--- thank the Lord, she was quite crabby! She is still out!
I am enjoying the peace... Andy is with a friend, Matt is with Papa and Gma.... bless their hearts for letting me have a somewhat peaceful day!

Yep, we did the unthinkable! We entered the doors of the junk shop downtown Crawford. Yup, we discovered some GEMS! First, we were downtown for Tai Chi... with the gals at the Eagles. It was fun to learn something new. I love, LoVe, lOvE to learn new things! Anyhow, sidetracked again.... Ma and I went in to check it out. We are pleased to announce that it is still home to the prehistoric tampons! FOR REAL! I am not kiddin'. Also, Meggie had a great time looking at the mangy dolls and ect. while I found an antique child's toy cash register JUST like my Dads. So, i bought it! :o) Then we found an awesome old register hidden away in the front covered with junk.... the owner claimed it to be the first cash register in CRAWFORD! Sheesh! That is nifty! And, he also told us that the gi-normous bakery shelf unit on the north wall was from the FIRST bakery in Crawford built in 1888....and.... it was for sale for a measly $3K. "Yup, it appraised for about $30K!" the owners also claimed. Nifty bit of history we found! We left with the feeling that there are lots of treasures really buried in that old building.... just who has the energy to dig THAT DEEP! :O)

Yup, I was there. Off on a tangent of getting the Christmas goodies gathered, wrapped and tagged. That is what the worlds women do. Christmas is, in my opinion a child's and woman's holiday. The guys really miss or AVOID the work of it all.....cooking, doing the dishes, digging out the decorations, putting all the decorations out, and making the home all pretty and festive. Guys totally don't get it, huh?
Okay, my Hubs kicked it up a notch this year... he "Griswalded" the house and property with beautiful lights... AND HE HELPED ME WRAP THE SANTA GIFTS! Yeppers, you can exhale now. He had to help me, I had a out-patient surgery on my back on the 22nd of Dec. So, I was out of commission for a few days.... -I didn't plan it that way!- But, we got it all done and the kids are so happy with their gifts! They are spoiled!
Anyhow, at the moment, I am still fighting a stomach ailment which has affected me for about 6 days now. I went to the Dr. and had blood taken, so far no news... tomorrow is my follow up appointment. We will see....
AND I am planning classes for Jan. and FEB.!

What is the meaning of Homecoming?
Here is what I found:

Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States. People, towns, high schools and colleges come together, usually in late September or early October, to welcome back former residents and alumni. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet and, most often, a game of American football, or, on occasion, basketball, ice hockey or soccer. When celebrated by schools, the activities vary widely. A dance commonly follows the game.

I really have some very fond memories of Homecoming. I had to wear a "toilet seat-deer horn" hat as a freshman..... & had my first "date" to a dance. My senior year, I got to dress up crazy with my friends for each day, pick on the Freshman girls, lead the bon fire cheers, and take my HUBS to the dance! Funny, huh?

It was a great weekend! We golfed(not too great), stomped some grapes, ran the mile and WON! Andy and Matt both got first places in their age divisions. Andy won 1st overall with his time of 8 mins. 17 secs. WAY TO GO WENDLANDS!!!!

Megs had a big wreck on her little purple princess bike last night... she was doing some "trick" riding and tried to ride up the curb... it bucked her off! Daddy-O came to the rescue! Yea! BUT, we didin't have any large band-aids. Until we went to Wally World today, where we got some super large ones. BUT, they did NOT have princesses on them! So, I gave in and got the princess ones (never had fancy band-aids) as well as the super-dooper-large ones.... We didn't even get out of the store before she started putting them on!

JUNE just flew by....now there goes July!

Okay, June was completely obliterated!!!! By Baseball......games, practice and ect.....
I need to rewind it...
-Matt had his first homerun!
-Andy hit left-handed (switch hitter) most of the season, and had 15 or so homers in the Minor League!
-Meggie loved t-ball, and seemed to really get it, mostly from her personal coach & brother Andy....
-Matt's Minors won 2nd place in the Tourney.
-Andy's Majors won their only game to get them 3rd in the Tourney.
-I had a great time watching the kiddos play ball.... love it, and love to take photos and cheer for them!
-I took the camper(drove it myself!), to Fur Trade Days and camped out at the Blundell's street (thank you for all your help Fairy family!). We had a fabulous time camping and playing together! Made plans to do that every year. And I found out that I AM CAPABLE of pulling the camper and setting it up!
-Had a wonderful 4th O' July, we celebrated with family & friends. Rodeo, fireworks, BBQ,pig wrestling, cocktails, late nights, and bug spray.....What a great time!
-We have had a great time with Lisette, showing her the simple, country life..... and teaching her......
-Now, we are planning a big camping trip to the lake.... can't wait.... all work and no play-YUCKY!
-Fire season is upon us, don't much like that our loved ones are risking everything for us, but someone has to step up for us.... Thank YOU firemen!
-It's a great year for weeds....wanna come help me pull them? I can't keep up! :o)
-Meggie is napping now, and I am thinking the same. Pool sunburn isn't very lovely....

The Crawford Majors Team played on Tuesday night in Chadron. They started off strong, and keep the score at 4 to 4. Pitching in the 4th inning caused some scoring by the Chadron team. Andy went in to relieve the pitcher and threw three guys....one he struck out! It was awesome! Our boys stole at least a half of dozen bases. Aaron even stole home! It was a great learning experiece for everyone despite the score 13- 4....

Andy then played for the Minors on Wednesday night. He had several great plays and hits. He even tried batting left handed and hit a home run! IT WAS AWESOME! The Minors played well, and improvement can be seen since last year already!

Our new horse, Roxi had her baby! Mom and Dad purchased her last fall, knowing she was expecting.... and yesterday little Stone was born! He is so cute and soft. Andy, Meggie and I rode the Rino"Fred" up the pasture to see him, where he ways laying down having a nap in the sunshine. I approached him and Roxi with caution....slowly.....slowly. I petted and rubbed him while he was sleeping. Then he awoke and stretched his VERY long legs out and then stood up! He is so cute! He has a little short mane and tail....which I petted. (Andy and Megs were too scared to get out of "Fred") So, then he had a drink while slurping..... cute!
You are probably wondering why this is so significant. Okay, in all of my years I remember at the Ranch, we have not had a colt born. So, it is SUPER cool! Meggie loved that Papa called her bright and early yesterday morning.... because we have been waiting impatiently for lil' Stones arrival!
Yea, God is good!

Strawberry-Lemon Trifle

Ingredients:
4 oz. cream cheese
1 C. lemon yogurt
2 C. milk
1 Pkg, instant lemon puddin' (3.4 oz.)
2 tsp. grated lemon peel
2 1/2 C sliced fresh strawberries
1 Tbs. water
1 prepared angel food cake

How ta do it:

Beat cream cheese, and yogurt. Add milk, puddin' mix, and lemon peel. Beat until smooth
Tear cake into bit size pieces; place a third in trifle bowl, top with third of puddin' mix, and place strawberries along bowl neatly. Place chopped straws on top of that layer. REPEAT. Then top with sliced strawberries....Chill.....then overendulge!

Heavenly Father, today we pray for everyone. YES, we all need help from above.... I pray for little Miss Addi, who is recovering from surgery in Denver. Please help her to heal and to be able to eat, we want her to come home and be with her family. Lord, please see that all those who are in need of surgeries, that you help them recover and heal. A new windy day....

Yet another day of wind.... no wonder that people go crazy and do stupid things when the wind blows for days on end. The same is true for consecutive hot summer days. One thing is certain, I am glad that we golfed yesterday. It was something that Hubs and I were so craving... maybe it was the alone time. Having three children wears on the realaionship at times.... or should I say, it suffers greatly. So, when we get the opportunity this spring, we will be golfing and repairing our relationship!---another gift from above----
Well, today Meggie and I are going to try to tackle her imploded room. She just has entirely too many "things"--- dollys, kitchen stuff, stuffed animals ect, ect. SO, you may have to throw me a line to make it our of her black abyss....
Oh, and I have some serious projects in the works..... mama's day cards!

So, today we are plotting the attack of the day. We are thinking some GOLF! YEA! We have a membership at LBGC, but have yet to use it.

Crap! I missed it! I usually do something like pull some weeds, or spray some weeds on Earth Day! It was a rainy day, so I did the next best thing! SCRAPPING...... Yes, I got the design layout done for the MOPS Fundraiser all done for Saturday. It is a PRETTY DARN NIFTY layout that I will be teaching in Chadron at 10:00 am. The cost is $15, and you will not be dissappointed! I really pulled out the stops on this one!
I also hosted a make-up layout for the last weeks "school days" layout. It was fun to gather with the ladies, and giggle and have a cocktail! Thanks GIRLS, I love ya's!
Yesterday, I went to Chadron to have my hair done by our BESTEST-Cutter Girl, and have lunch with some Besties........ I laughed till I cried! YEP, It was a good day!

Yeppers, with much aprehension, I got to leave Saturday morning! South, I traveled to Torrington to see my dearie Trish. We had big plans for the day. First, a scrap class at Torrington Office Supply-Scrapbooking. It was AWESOME! The project was a canvas.... I LOVED IT! So, look for a class simular in our future classes. Then we attended the play, "Annie". It was the best! We so enjoyed ourselves....as it was wierd for me to be childless. I am really being serious here, as I guess I needed a break from reality. My Ma and Trish were both right. The kids will be okay without me, and I don't need to feel guilty. ANyhoo, we stayed up late and visited....mostly hashed out each others lives. Loved it!

Yeppers, Andy got his first FIRST PLACE medal yesterday in Alliance. He wrestled his heart out, and came on top! WAY TO GO BIG "A"!1!! We are so PROUD OF YOU! He had a tough battle with the first one, but still whipped him into a pin. Then the second match, he beat him by points, but had him in position for a pin SEVERAL times..... so dang proud.
So, now we are onto baseball season. I love baseball, it is my VERY FAVORITE sport to watch my kids play.... and to watch my Rockies play....

Last night we attended the family night at school. It was put together by PIRC, and Student Council. It was themed, "Read Around The World." There were about 30 kids who attended, some with their parents, too. The kids had snacks and then filled out their passports. They had a choice of four continents to visit out of the seven. My kids were eager to visit Europe..... as I was the speaker/reader for Europe. I had dug out my Sweden stuff; my Rotary jacket which was covered with pins from all over the world, my swedish clogs (the kids loved trying them on!), and a Swedish traditional doll. Had I know about this more than a week in advance, I would have ordered some Swedish candy on-line. Anyhow, I read the first chapter out of "Pippi Longstocking." It was written by a Swede in 1950 for her sick daughter.... the kids loved it! They were mesmerized, enchanted, and very well behaved..... I LOVED IT! Many of them are eager to read more about Pippi, too. I sent them on their way with a coloring page of Pippi. My own kids loved it! It was a wonderful night............. It made me want to return to Sweden. In fact, I still have a great friend there, Emma, who I still am in contact with. I would love to visit her, since it has almost been 20 years since I was there!

March Wrestling Madness....

This weekend we had a wrestling meet in Hemingford. Andy had a pretty tough bracket, and had to fight tough! He lost his first match to his buddy Matthew from Gordon. They have become friends despite Andy losing to him every week.... but Andy has learned a lot from his "foe". I am so proud of him because he always makes his foe his friend..... Anyhoo, Andy's second match was with a kid from Mullen, who's dad was SUPER loud! He was a tough kid! But, Andy won in overtime with a take-down! YES! YES! It was a SUPER EXCITING match. In fact, Andy cried because he won! INTENSE!

On Saturday night, we went to Amanda's for her first Mary Kay event. She did a great job, and we had a great time! Amanda made some yummy soup, dips, and appetizer pizza.... She is a great cook, too! I will be hosting a class for her on Friday, April 9th at 7:30 p.m. Come and have some laughs with us, and try all the new products! I promise to have a yummy dessert, too!

Then on Sunday, I have the scrap class with several gals. It was the cutest layout, too! We had a great time, lots of laughs with the later gals! Thanks for coming ya'all!

Today, Matt and I got to meet Miss Addi. She is the precious little premie daugher of Angie & Justin. Addi is currently in the Pediatric ICU in Sbluff. Anyhoo, she is growing and is doing so well. I cannot believe how stinkin' tiny she is! I am so used to whopper, huge, ginormous babies! But, she is oh, so precious! I stroked her tiny, hairy head..... and was amazed at GOD'S creation. Bless YOU Addi..... get well enough to come home soon!

Birthday & Wrestling

Matt had a wonderful 8th birthday celebration with all of his family and his bestie Dennis. They played and played Star Wars stuff. Matt got a nice, new guitar for his gift from us. He will start lessons this week with Aviron. I think that he will love it! Thank YOU for all of the wonderful wishes, and gifts you all!
On Saturday, we helped with our home wrestling meet. It was a great day! Matt decided to wrestle in this one, and did VERY well. He pinned two of his opponents! He ended up with 2nd place! YES! He did tell me that he had fun, but doesn't want to wrestle this next meet. Oh well......
Andy did exceptionally well. He got beat in one match by 3 points. He pinned the other two opponents. So, we are learning. And Jeff and I were SO PROUD of the boys! They are really getting "it".
Meggie had fun with her cousin Joel from Paxton. She idolizes him, and is his little shadow! FUNNY!
Well, the time change has messed with us this morning. Andy stomped his way up the hill to school. He wanted to stay home! Naw, you have to pass third grade, dude!

Matt- 2010 Olympic Alley Luge Gold Medal Winner

Today, our baby boy is turning 8 years old! I can't believe it! He was a suprise from the get go. We didn't think that we were so fertile! And one month before Andy's first birthday, we found out we were expecting! YEA! But, oh so overwhelming on Jeff & I. Especially being a working momma..... I worked until the day before Matt was born..... he came out with lots of hair, and was a snuggle-bug from then on. We have enjoyed Matt's little antics, and love that he still loves to snuggle.... it's like traction for him. Especially when he is having a hard moment. I just hold him tight, and it is all better within minutes. Matt is a special kid. No, he is my heart. And I love spending our Thursday afternoons together. Today, he has chosen to go to Taco Johns for birthday lunch before his therapy..... I guess, whatever! Anyhoo, we went to parent/teacher conferences a few days ago. Mrs. S. sure enjoys him, too. She told us that he is a little reader, and can't get enough! She has tried to ease up on the homework for him in the past, and he insists on doing it ALL. He has set goals for himself! I am so, so PROUD! All this from a kid with Austism Spectrum! He will succeed! He will be a tax-payer, and not live in my house as a adult! YES! YES! I love my little Matt. He is so precious........................ I am so PROUD of him.
His birthday plans are to have supper with Auntie, Unckie and Miranda tonight. Dennis -his best bud- will be staying the night, too. Then tomorrow, we will go get the God-Cousins -Blundell's- and go bowling and have supper/cake/ice cream with all! Grandma Bonnie,Grandpa Bill & Joel are coming tomorrow evening, too!

Wrestle Mania!

We traveled to Gordon for the meet on Saturday, and it was the CRAPPIEST roads ever! Sami and her kids rode with us... it was an adventure. The kids drove us nuts! So, we had to divide and conquer, by separating the kids...
Anyhow, Andy had a tough bracket. He wrestled a kids from Chadron who beat him by 2 points. Andy wrestled his heart out! Then in round two, the same scenerio. Andy got beat by two points! DANG IT! I guess we have some things to learn about obtaining points. Anhoo, the last round Andy whooped the kid by 18 to 2 points.... AJ just couldn't seem to pin him! So, he ended up taking 3rd place. It was sad, but a learning experience for Andy.
Matt-man decied to sit this meet out. Competitive sports are tough on him, he seems to not handle the losing situation AT ALL.... so I will leave it up to him. Matt did have a good time cheering for his team mates.... he loves his buddies Dennis, Rope, Will, and the Morava twins. He said that next week he will wrestle.... it is our home meet... Should be lots of fun! Grandma and Grandpa Wendland will be here from Paxton. The kids are so EXCITED! It is Matt-man's birthday weekend!

Yesterday was Meggie's snack day for pre-school. I said to her that she will take the little oranges to school to share with her classmates. Meggie said to me, "No Momma, I wanna take somethin' good-er!" I said to her, "those are yummy oranges, and you love them...and your friends will too." "No Momma, I want something with FROSTING!" "Frosting is good on everything!"
Then today, Megs asked what is paper made of? I said... trees of course. She said, "Well. they must put frosting on the top and let it dry to make it white!"

Wacky Wednesday!

Today, Mrs. S declared 2nd grade shall wear their pajamas to school! Whoo HOO! So, Mr. Matt left with his Star Wars (he's a S.W. junkie!) PJ's on, and then he thought he should wear sweats over them so he could walk to school. Good choice, my boy!

Wrestler's Rule!

Saturday was our first meet of the season and it was in Chadron. Both Andy and Matt were so excited for it! Andy wouldn't eat breakfast because of his nerves.....
So, Andy wrestled first, and was pinned! Darn IT! The kid was from Chadron, and did the head lock on him, without an arm in. This is a rule infraction. You must have your opponants arm in the headlock as to prevent air restriction. So, Andy thought he was dying without air~ It sucked, literally. Andy' second match was won by points by Andy, 17 to 2 points. Then he got a 'bye'. So, Andy ended up with Second Place.....
Matt lost his first and second match by points. He was never pinned! What a tough-ie! He lost that second match by 2 points! Darn! But the third and final match, Matt-Man won by 9 to 2 points! yAhOoooo!
So, all was well, and we had a darned good time. Jeffey was home to see the whole tourney, too.
After wrestling, we picked up the Blundell's ( our god-cousins) and came home to have FUN! So, the kids had a great time playing together, and learning to take turns, (Meggie). We sure love our god-cousins!

It's a Rally Hat kind of day....

Mrs. Scoggan implemented "Wacky Wednesdays" at school. Each Wed. will have a theme, and this week was wacky hat day. Matt and I couldn't think on a hat, but Andy piped right up and said, "A RALLY HAT!" Matt agreed, so off he went to find a suitable hat. It looks goofy, and cute! "A Rally Cap is a baseball cap worn while inside-out or in another unconventional manner by players or fans, in order to will a team into a come-from-behind rally late in the game. The Rally Cap is primarily a baseball superstition."-excerpt from Wikipedia.
I think that it was a very suitable hat for Mr. Matt, and stands for who he REALLY is...... Befitting, huh?
