Vapor Lock +*+

(Photo of a HUGE bee @ Grandma's pretty flowers... this one had a huge orange stripe down it middle!)

Okay, this morning, Grandma called early and woke Jeffey & I up. The kiddo's stayed at the farm last night so that J & I could golf. Anyhow, Andy woke up at 2 am with serious stomach pains.... so I picked him up at 8:30 and took him to the E.R. It seems that he has a HUGE gas bubble, and a bowel blockage. SO they determined this after they X-rayed and took blood. Then they made him drink a nasty solution to make him poop. Andy pooped about 10 minutes later, and they sent us home and said more fiber in his diet...... and to watch him. He has has some pain problems in the past, too. SO, Andy Jay is still sitting in the chair watching baseball, and not moving much.... which is weird for him.

Well, I whipped Jeffey in golf yesterday. And I felt pretty good as far as the back pain! Yippee!

Have a great evening, I am back to working nights (9:00 p.m.).

Nigh, Night!

FuNnY!

Isn't that a hoot?!?!? Sounds like my boys!
Anyhow, my back feels better this morning, as with most mornings due to rest. I got off work last night at 12:15. So, it was an easy night! Tonight I need another of those. We have the Fire Dept. Golf Tourney tomorrow at 8:00 am. So, some sleep would be nice!>!
Anyhow, last night boys had b-ball practice, and I did concessions. It sure made me thankful that I don't have to work food services as a career!
So, off to a busy day, clean up house (if kids will help me), then change my bed sheets, get Fireman's golf stuff done, & then head out to the ranch....

Our vacation journal...

First, we had our first baseball game last night against a Chadron team.... and we WON! Wow! What an improvement from last year! I am so proud our our boys... all of them! They were AWESOME!
Okay I have been meaning to begin this journal, but have not had a spare moment!

Day 1, Tuesday May 19th- We left Crawford at 1:30 (after school was let out) and headed north to the Mammoth Site. We have been there several times, but our little Matt loves the place. We even got to see an actual dig going on and visit with the diggers. They had some new discoveries to share with us, too! It was pretty cool, and then Matt got his Mammoth t-shirt supply renewed, too. We then headed towards Hill City area... through Custer. We got to see a huge heard of Buffalo with bunches of brand-new babies, too. We made it to Mt. Rushmore that afternoon, and the boys thought that was pretty neat, as they hadn't remembered how big it really was. Then we saw some mountain goats along the road, too. It was a hot day, so we then got to our hotel at Palmer Gulch around 5:30 and went for a swim in the outdoor pool (it was 90 degrees). It was a beautiful serene area, and we plan to camp there someday! After a yummy supper, we had a little walk, saw some deer and played some catch ant then off to bed!

Day 2, Wed. May 20th- This morn we woke up to get ready for a long day of fun stuff! After a continental breakfast, we headed into Hill City to the 1880 Train. We got there rather early and got to partake in a tour of the repair facility. IT WAS COOL! Daddy-O and I visited with the help quite a bit, as they were fascinated with our husband/wife Engineer jobs. Anyhow, the train ride was wonderful and the hills were beautiful! The trees were leafing out with the bright green colors.... And we had the best weather all week! Then we headed to Rapid to shop for cleats and ect..... We had the boys' feet measured first at Scheels, and Matt's was a 4.75! WOW! He's got some huge feet! SO, he got cleats, and new athletic shoes. Poor fella, had too small shoes on! Andy was right around a 3.5 yet. So, he will be getting the hand-me-down shoes, now.... Meggie, we she wanted new shoes, but she has hundreds of pairs, and I had to do some quick talking. Then we went to our hotel, at the Waitiki Water Park. The boys had no clue what our vacation agenda was, so the ENTIRE Trip was a SURPRISE! They were thrilled with the choice of hotel this night. We swam and rode water slides for 4 hours... whew, we were all tired, and had a great time! Andy rode the slides probably 15 times, Matt not so many times, but he love the smaller ones geared for the little ones. Meggie just liked the low water areas. Daddy & I enjoyed the slides a few times, but I didn't much appreciate the "toilet bowl", as I kept going around and around, and around! I never seem to get flushed down the hole! Finally, I grabbed a hold of the edge of the hole, and flushed myself! TEE HEE! then it was time for a BL Lime! Enought of that! Awesome hotel, too. Great, comfy beds, nice breakfast.

Day 3, Thursday May 21st- Today, we went to a park to get some morning energy off. We had intended to go to the Storybook Park, but they were closed yet, until Memorial weekend! So, we then went to Cabela's & had a great time, as usual! We went accross the street and oogled some campers... we would love to have a camper! Then we head off towards the West. We drove through Sturgis, and the town was pretty dead compared to the Rally time. But the boys' enjoyed it. Jeffey wanted me to see the Spearfish canyon, so we headed that way.... the kids fell asleep, too! So, we had a wonderful, peaceful tour through the canyon. I definitely want to go back on the bike in the fall. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! We are so lucky to be so close to the Black Hills.... Anyhow, I enjoyed all of the beautiful homes along the way, too. I would love to live up there! But, too far from the ranch.... It is good to dream! Finally, we arrived at Deadwood, and checked into our hotel the Bullock. It was a dream for us. As we always wanted to stay there, and Jeffey wanted to hunt ghosts! Tee HEE! The boy's checked out the hotel when we got there, and made plans for later hunts. We then checked out main street, did some shopping, visited with some locals, ate supper at the Saloon #10, and participated/enjoyed the skit of Wild Bill's shooting with a very great look-a-like of Wild Bill. He was very interesting and took a liking to our family. He even showed us his horses out back, his fancy reproduction pistols, and told us of his upcoming movies with Sam Elliot. Pretty darn cool! The we were headed to bed, and ghost hunting!

Day 4, Friday May 21st- This morning, all of the boys let me and Meggie sleep in, with they ghost hunted, and went for a long walk! YEA! We then went downstairs for a yummy breakfast, and mad a plan for the day. We decided on heading up towards the Mt. Moriah Cemetery to see where Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, and Seth Bullock are buried. The kids loved the super hilly terrain, and had a great hike way up to Bullocks grave site. But it was beautiful, and wonderful scenery... Then we went to the museum downtown. The kids got a bit bored, but Jeffey and I loved it! They had some pretty cool things in there, such as a box that traveled on the Mayflower, some bones from the Custer battlefield, a two headed calf, and lots of cool old artifacts that were a collection from a family who collected them as a form of their "status". Apparently, wealth families collected items to have a room filled with these oddities to wooo their friends. I was impressed! SO, it then was over, and we headed towards home.....
We got home to feed the cats, and water the plants outside. They we all fine, as we had some rain while we were gone. SO, we unloaded a few items form the van and headed to Paxton! Yippee! We had a great weekend there, kids played with their cousins(lots of baseball, and basketball) and I drank some beer and made several cards with the girls. Jeffey just relaxed, went fishing, danced with me at the bar.... it was a wonderful week!
We came home Monday night to a cat being missing.... Jeffey is still broken hearted over his kitten being gone. I hope that he has found a happy home...poor Pooh! I had to go to Rapid to the Back Dr. on Tuesday, and he game some shots to me in the back where I hurt. So, far no pain relief, but they said it could take up to 10 days.... we will see.... So, I hope all of you have had a great week, and I have missed all of you!

Yesterday was cow chasing out to pasture and branding 10 of the nearly last calves. We had a great lot of fun, and got super sunburned-me- and the kids had a great time! We sure enjoy hanging out with our whole family to accomplish some major goals!
Anyhow, we are busy today with laundry packing, planting the garden, and getting everything ready to go. I will have a complete update after we return.... Take Care!

A joke...

(An email I recieved from my Mom-in-law)
Why Women Are Crabby
We started to 'bud' in our blouses at 9 or 10 years old only to find that anything that came in contact with those tender, blooming buds hurt so bad it brought us to tears. So came the ridiculously uncomfortable training bra contraption that the boys in school would snap until we had calluses on our backs.
Next, we get our periods in our early to mid-teens (or sooner). Along with those budding boobs, we bloated, we cramped, we got the hormone crankies, had to wear little mattresses between our legs or insert tubular, packed cotton rods in places we didn't even know we had.
Our next little rite of passage was having sex for the first time which was about as much fun as having a ramrod push your uterus through your nostrils (IF he did it right and didn't end up with his little cart before his horse), leaving us to wonder what all the fuss was about.
Then it was off to Motherhood where we learned to live on dry crackers and water for a few months so we didn't spend the entire day leaning over Brother John . Of course, amazing creatures that we are (and we are), we learned to live with the growing little angels inside us steadily kicking our innards night and day making us wonder if we were preparing to have Rosemary's Baby.
Our once flat bellies looked like we swallowed a whole watermelon and we pee'd our pants every time we sneezed. When the big moment arrived, the dam in our blessed Nether Regions invariably burst right in the middle of the mall and we had to waddle, with our big cartoon feet, moaning in pain all the way to the ER.
Then it was huff and puff and beg to die while the OB ? says, 'Please stop screaming, Mrs. Hearmeroar . Calm down and push. 'Just one more good push' (more like 10), warranting a strong, well-deserved impulse to punch the%$#*@*#!* hubby and doctor square in the nose for making us cram a wiggling, mushroom-headed 10 pound bowling ball through a key hole.
After that, it was time to raise those angels only to find that when all that 'cute' wears off, the beautiful little darlings morphed into walking, jabbering, wet, gooey, snot-blowing, life-sucking little poop machines.
Then come their 'Teen Years.' Need I say more? When the kids are almost grown, we women hit our voracious sexual prime in our early 40's - while hubby had his somewhere around his 18th birthday.
So we progress into the grand finale: 'The Menopause', the Grandmother of all womanhood. It's either take HRT and chance cancer in those now seasoned 'buds' or the aforementioned Nether Regions, or, sweat like a hog in July, wash your sheets and pillowcases daily and bite the head off anything that moves.
Now, you ask WHY women seem to be more spiteful than men, when men get off so easy, INCLUDING the icing on life's cake: Being able to pee in the woods without soaking their socks...So, while I love being a woman, 'Womanhood' would make the Great Gandhi a tad crabby. You think women are the 'weaker sex'? Yeah right. Bite me.

Awww, shoot!

Hey ya'll!
Did u have a wonderful Mom's day? I really hope so. I saw Deb out in her garden yesterday, and looked like she was letting Greg do the hard stuff--- GOOD for U! We were headed to Chadron to have lunch with Great Grandma and my parents. It was lovely.... and the kids had fun with Grapes tractors, and watched some baseball with him. Meggie got G.Grandma to swing on the front porch with her... it was a sweet moment! Anyhow, we then went to the ranch so that I could have a nap, and it turns out that Meg and Matt had a nap with Grandma. Andy was busy outside playing baseball, trying to Papa to play every now and then between working.... It was lovely, and time got away from us.... we flew kites and then checked cows. Before we knew it, it was 7:30 pm. Time to get home for baths and I had to go to work at 9:00.
Saturday night, we celebrated with my parents, and no kids (thank you Jess & Jason for taking our precious ones)! We went to the Cookshack and had the loveliest meal! That place is soooo awesome! It is pretty cool how they built the cabins, saloon, and ect. Then Jeffey had to go to work, so we dropped him off and my Dad took Mom and I to the movies! We saw 17 Again. It was cute! And we made a date to see the new Matt Mcdreamy movie when it comes out.... we (my Dad, Ma, & I) love "Chick" flicks....
So, this morning, the phone was ringing, the darn BNSF to tell me I am back on the 9 AM job for the week, due to the guy is on vacation! I wasn't expecting that! NOR did I plan for that.... damn! We will figure it out for all the stuff I have to get done this week! Have a great day, and comment, comment, comment! WIN something super cute this week!

....the contest for comments. You can enter by commenting once per post. Then on each Thursday, I will throw all those names who commented during that week into a hat and draw a name out for the winner of the week. Okay, this week I made a mistake, I thought that Deb had commented, and accidentally, mistakenly, absentmindedly, added her name to the hat. Forgive me? You ALL win win once, I promise that! I love your comments!

Well, no bump yet. I hope it comes today, then I will have tomorrow off with my hubby and family.

Spring has sprung!

YEA!

Our local feed store has their plants in! Yippee! I have already been there at the butt-crack of the morning. I got lots of beauties for all of my pots around here.... can't wait to get my fingers dirty....

dirty hands, clean heart!

Yes, I am still on the 9:00 am job. I think until tomorrow... who knows until it happens. Whenever it does, I will be going to the 9:00 PM job. It works out great for the summers activities: baseball, golfing, swimming, fishing, ect.

Speaking of fishing, the kids went with Jeffey last night to Grable ponds, and caught several fish each! Matt was so happy, as he loves to fish and hunt. They got some new, fresh bait (Salmon eggs) and they said that was the trick. I stayed at home to nurse my cold. UGH! Nothing like getting the crud in the spring!

Anyhow, we have the pre-school family picnic tonight. The kids are sooooo looking forward to it, as it in on the football field! YEA!

Have a great day! Welcome back Jess! Reality now sets in again!

Oh, the joys of friendship...

My precious friend Trish came up yesterday morning to spend the day and have a slumber party with me. Her boys were out camping for the weekend for scouts...so, what better than shop & scrap with friends! So, we headed to Chadron to eat Chinese, then to the downtown stores for purses, and candles, and pretty things! I got some new music at Gatherings, for 60% off, too! Yippee! Stephen Marq- Amore, is the album. It is so AWESOME! Anyhow, we then came back and spent the late hours working on a gift for a graduate for Trish. It turned out we made a card box, and filled it with various cards, photo frame, and nice pens. It was soooooo stinkin' cute! Plus, we had a great time chit-chatting about life, & eating Ben & Jerry's. I LOVE THAT SHE WILL NEVER JUDGE ME. Never think badly of me, and some of my less than desireable decisions! Thank the LORD for friends.... I have been blessed over and over with several wonderful friendships!

Anyhow, kiddo's are at Grandma & Papas for the weekend. I will pick them up after work today. I am sure that they will be thoroughly exhausted and played out! Thank you Gma for all of your help. I can't survive, much less have my sanity without you and Papa's help! Love ya! Have a great day all!
