Whew! We were bUsy!

Click on "view all pictures" to see the entire photo... something wrong with slide show....
News of the day....
The R.R. has taken me off work due to my back injury. It is unknown for how long this will last. I have an appointment for the 8th for another shot and a review... So, we will see. I need a paycheck! We are looking to find other ways.....
We lost our baseball game last night to Andy's major disappointment. They played hard, but had lots of errors in the infield. They will play again on Wednesday in Chadron @ 6:00. That will be the LAST game of the season. However, a few moms and I were talking, and are planning to have the boys get together on Sunday nights throughout the summer to just play ball. So, please feel free to bring your boys to play at the ball field @ 6:30 on Sundays starting the 12th.....
Okay, we had a huge fun weekend with our God-Cousins.... went to Mr. P's Birthday Party, to the pool and for night swimming, had Staabs ice cream, hit 8 or so buckets of golf balls, went to Soldier Creek for some water fun, and a picnic. We had a great time bonding..... love you guys! Sorry I was a bit grouchy! Mommy's need more sleep....
Have a great day! HUGS!

An early lesson on fairness....

(Disclosure: This is MY blog, and MY opinion. If you don't like it.... quit reading!)

Okay, as many of you know that this year there were 25-ish boys sign up for Minor League baseball here in Crawford. What a wonderful thing to have so much interest!

So the kids were split based on age (some families stayed together for convenience); older boys on the Orange team, younger ones on the Grey. So, it is Tournament time next week. All the while we (the parents) thought that since we sere so late in splitting our teams in two, that we could only bring one team to the Tourney. So, the Tournament team was selected, 16 kids out of the 25-ish. Not sure how it was selected since Coach L. told me that we don't keep stats (which we do, I sat next to many stat keepers), and that Matt was very close, but NOT being chosen. Yes, Matt was NOT chosen to be a member of the team. But, a 5 year old was chosen (age limit is 6 to 10). Matt-man was very upset.... kept saying it wasn't fair... AND IT WASN'T! I know that it is political.... geeze! Matt calmed down by the next day, and I heard that several other boys were upset, too. I think that BOTH teams should be able to play, this IS FOR THE KIDS, right?
So, I contacted the Chadron League, and asked why we couldn't bring two teams. They said that we were ALLOWED to bring two teams, but the Crawford coaches DECIDED to only bring one! Can you believe that! Crawford coaches decided to bring an "elite" team, and didn't care that ALL these boys played the entire year, and were LET DOWN by their very coaches! I am sure that the coaches didn't consider that they let these kids down, since all of their children were selected for the Tournament team, despite their age and skill level. I guess it is better to upset someone elses kid, than to upset your own, eh?

Chalk it up to another lesson in life learned a VERY EARLY AGE.

"Life isn't FAIR!" Yuck, I hate for kids to learn that so early!

Sentimental trees....

Okay, I know it seems weird, but yep, my trees that I lovingly hand-planted and cared for are named after my family & friends. Some living, some in heaven. When I planned the landscaping for our yard six years ago, no naming occurred to me... with the exception of the three flowering thunder child crab apple trees on the west side. Those three are named after the kids... with one white snow crab for the hope of a baby girl, someday. So, then the others were nameless until nearly 5 years ago when my Ma gave me a wonderful stepping stone as a gift, it says,
"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know that they are happy."

Our Weekend!

They had a tough game, but Connor had his first out of the park homer! WHOO HOO! AWESOME! We ate lunch and then headed home, as Mommy and Daddy were lacking sleep....
Sunday, Jeff went to work extra early... miss Daddy's day. We will make it up to him. Maybe some Golf. Then tonight we had a game against Chadron Blue. We played really well. Andy had his FOURTH homer in the game! AND Matt had some fantastic hits, and made it to third base! SO Proud we were, and we (Jennifer, Celeste and Kim) did the "Baseball Mom's" YELL! WHOOOOOOO HOOO! We are so proud of our kids! Now, I am headed to work AGAIN! Have a great night/day! Hugs.................

My thoughts....

While @ work, I get plenty, I mean PLENTY of time to ponder life and my surroundings...
So here goes....

- The morning air smells so so sweet of alfalfa at 5:30 a.m.
- Boy, the night sky here is beautiful... we don't have much light pollution! YEA!
- I love, love my new-to-me Yukon! SWEET ride, and it rides 8 people comfortably!
- Shelby Blundell should marry my Andy when they grow up. She is a shadow image of him; loves sports, is GREAT at sports, and is super sweet. PLUS, she is gorgeous!
- I think I may like this 3:00 a.m. job. It affords me more time at home with the kiddos at night.
- We sold about 45 sweatshirts for the baseball fundraiser so far! WHOO HOO! BEEP BEEP, I am honking my horn! Thanks for all of your support!
- I am doing some cardmaking/scrapbooking classes for the beginner/intermediate. Please, please come and let me show you how to make some super-duper cute stuff for super chEaP!!!
- Boy, I can't wait for the 4th of July this year. Reason being, that we are just going to RELAX and enjoy this year. No public service for me. Jeffey will help with the fireworks.... YEA!
- I love to watch my kids play ball. They make me so proud that I could burst!!! ;)
- I am blessed to have so many great family and friends!

I had a revelation...

Recently, my Dad commented on some big, loopy silver earrings I was wearing. "Those are mighty BIG!" he exclaimed. Then, "They look like something that Aunt Margie would wear!" Oh... bless her soul! I really hadn't thought about being more and more like my late-"Godmother Aunt Margie." She loved, loved, gaudy jewelry, and long dangly earrings! She loved bright colors, red nail polish, and never left home without her pantyhose (reason being her varicose veins!) But, she was a looker, and took pride in herself. She even LOVED coffee, and drank it at all times of the day.... sometimes taking her cup outside to the garden or corral and losing it temporarily on a fence post! I miss her.... I have a tree named after her out in the backyard.... too bad she never met her namesake, Megan. She would have loved how we are turning out!

Baseball Friday Night!

Last night was soooooo much fun! Aunt Trish came to watch, and stay the night with us! We had a great time watching the boys play. Matt had 3 R.B.I.'s, and and had several double plays..... it was AWESOME! Our boys can sure hit, and catch! I am so proud! We don't know the final score, but we will say it was a tie, as it is FOR FUN! Mr. Andy is so highly competitive, and thinks that they won..... I am not so sure.
Anyhow, after coffe with Trish, while we looked at the 3000 pics on her memory card.... (LOVED 'EM) we went tot he Fort for lunch and then Trish headed home.... she had to take care of her little dog. We miss her already! Love ya Sista! Thanks for coming!
Take Care!

Will this rain quit? I m sick of getting wet @ work every night!

AWESOME Husker Baseball Camp...

"You must do it the Husker way!" .........was the wise words of the coach. He said many wise words to the kids in the opening. "If you want to play with the Huskers, you must have good grades, stay off the polices' computer, and just be a good, gracious kid!" And off they went onto the field, Andy being one of the first ones ready for action. Andy had a great time and learned so much, and plans on attending again next year.
I had a great time shopping with my sisters-in-law, Dana and Jill. We did Maurices, Herbergers, JC Penneys, a Scrapbook Store, a greenhouse, Walmart, and lunch...... oh, and I got a delicious coffee! WHOO HOO! Hooray for the girls day!
Have a wonderful day!

Oh, yea, our Meow the Cat had her batch of kittens.... SEVEN of them! WOA! We found one under the pickup, and he was cold and moving really slow.
