It is always an ADVENTURE!

(Prom 1991)

Today began with Jeffey getting called in to work at 3:00 am. Then the kids were up about 7:00am... I slept until 9-ish! But, with one eye opened. I took yesterday off for the wrestling Tourney. So it is back to work for me tonight at MIDNIGHT! Anyhow, we cleaned up the house a bit, and then decided to go to the movie in Chadron to see Monsters vs. Aliens. It was pretty good, but not as good as Madagascar 2. We then headed out to the ranch since we haven't been out for some time due to the weather.... the kids missed Gma and Papa.

So, Matt & Meggie went with Papa to do some coyote hunting. Andy and I put gas into the dirt bike, and headed out to check Ol' Flop Ear cow. Gma said she was starting to calve earlier, and needed checked. SO, out Andy on the dirt bike, myself on a 4 wheeler to check cows. We got out there in the triangle pasture, and Ol' Floppy was down try to push out her baby, but the babys head was out, with the tongue out. NOT GOOD! I sent Andy back to get Gma, while I tried to get the cow headed to the corral. Nope, she wouldn't go.... no matter what fancy driving I did. Gma got out there with her 4 wheeler, and no prob getting Ol' Floppy in! Yea!
Then we got her in the head catch, Papa(who arrived back from coyote hunting as it began to lightning) and helped Gma pull the baby out. Meggie hid behind the calf sled, so that only her eyes were showing.... she was scared! But, the baby was fine, and was holding his head up before we left the barn! Yippee! Another exciting birth!

Then we helped Papa cake the cows, and it was rainy. It was time to head home, as those dirt roads have NO gravel on them and become super-duper slick! So, we went home..... but not making it far. Just over the hill, we began to side-step on the road on way, then the other! Then we were in the ditch full of snow! Nope, could not rock our way out of that one! I called Gma, and she got Papa and he got his tractor. We got out no problem.... and slowly headed to town. What an adventure!

Sheesh! AgAiN?????

Yep, I got bumped! Now I am on the LAST job that I can hold here in Crawford.....(drum roll, please?) MIDNIGHTS! Yep, I am back on that Crappy, Horrible, never get ANY sleep job. BUT, I should be thankful that I have a job, regardless. Right? Okay, I will be telling myself that all day.... but, I won't start until tomorrow night, as I have a Dr. appointment in Rapid tomorrow. Okay, we are just getting around, as I have a cold, and am stuffed up.... a remedy will be cold meds., and a nice hot, steamy shower.
We are headed to the movie this afternoon. Have a great day!

Today's Pix....

Lots has happened the past two days. Firstly, Andy and Mat were in the shower, and they were horsing around.... and before you know it, Matt had chipped his front tooth. Yep, both boys have bad front teeth now! ARGH! So, we need a dentist appt. ASAP. Poor little boy!
Then today, we had wrestling in Hay Springs. Andy had 2 pins and 1 decision by points, which made him first place in his bracket. Matt had 3 pins and 2 losses. So, he got 2nd place. THEY WERE SO EXCITED! Daddy-o and Papa were there to support us too. Thank GOD. I get overwhelmed with Meggie and the stress, excitement, and anxiety of it all.
Then, when we got home we headed out to the Fort to see the firetrucks and Smokey the bear. Meggie wasn't so sure of Smokey..... and Jaxon tried to assure her that Smokey was alright. But, it didn't work so good.....
Now, we are just relaxing and enjoying a quiet night. Daddy is due to go back to work about 2:00 am, and had gotten home about 4:00 am this morning. He was sooooooo tired, so we sent him to bed after supper. He grilled us some AWESOME burgers! Thanx hon!
Have a great night!
Hugs,

YEA! I did it!

Yep, I did 40 minutes on my ellip. @ #2! Angie was right, it is easier to workout in front of the TV! Time just fly by, and before you know it, you have done 30 mins! YIPPEE! Thanks Ang! ;)

Last night, I had dinner with the girls. And BOY did I need that! Thanks so much girls for your words of encouragement, concern, and just a listening ear. Love ya!

Well, Kami and Meggie are playing today. Meggie has been begging me, so a date was made! They are busy with babies, and cooking in Meg's room. Silly Gooses! Precious! I love that they are already friends.... good friends!

Okay, tomorrow is the Hay Springs wrestling meet. I have tonight off to make sure that I am home to take the boys. Plus, Jeffey should be home in the middle of the night to go with us! YIPPEE! I love not being the "single-mom."

K, Have a great day! MANY HUGS to all!

P.s. I love this song. The kids and I shake our booties to it, and laugh and the kings lyrics! Tee Hee!

It was SNOW much fun!

Yep, the kiddos's had a great time playing in the snow yesterday. It ended up being a pretty sloppy, melty kind of day! I think that we went out about 4:00 to head to the store for some kitty litter (box was STINKY, Stinky!) So, we decided to take the car, as it wasn't as blown in as the driveway. SO, off we went in "Work", as Meggie has named my work car. We went down to the Depot to check out the train traffic, and got stuck. Actually we got high-centered on the finely grated street! Good thing there was some Maintenance guys around to tow us out in pretty short order. Okay, we did get to the store, and back home safely. BUT, when I went to work last night, Angie had to give me a little push to get out of the street! The I gunned it to the depot.... parking carefully in a non-snowy area. I made it, to only go right back home in an hour! Yep, no work for me again... and got paid for it! YIPPEE!
K, I am off to work out, and then to shower. I hope that Jeffey gets home soon. He got called in on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Then got snowed in at Gillette. I think he may get deadheaded home this afternoon by the looks of the line-up. I hope so, as we are all so lonesome for him..... we miss out Daddy-o!
Take Care!

WHHOOO HOOOOO!

Yep, the BNSF called me last night and said that my job was laid-in. Which means that I don't have to go to work, BUT get paid for it! It seems that no trains are moving! Huh..... So, maybe the same will be true for tonight, but I doubt it. Jeffey is stuck up in Gillette at the hotel. I am glad he is safe, but he only has a locker of soup to eat. YUCK! I think he is going to try to walk over to the grocery store today. It was a white out up there, too. He said that there are a few crews stuck out on trains and cannot be reached, as the switches won't work. So, it is a state of emergency on the BNSF.
Okay, the kids and I are just hanging out. Andy is already outside checking out the snow, and Matt is working on getting his gear on to follow him out. None of the doors are able to open, we are snowed in! Andy went to try to sweep one of the doors out..... (the garage door is able to open yet)
YEA! JAMMIE DAY!!!!
I am going to finish putting the large mountain of laundry away, then have some craft project for the kids and I to do!
Have a great day!
(p.s. I am wishing I could take the snow effect off my blog!)

We had a FuN weekend!

Hey ya'all!

We had a fun weekend, as Jeffey was home most of it. First, on Friday night we rented Madagascar 2. FANTASTIC MOVIE! Love that King Julien! FUNNY!!!!!!! TEE HEE!!!

On Saturday morning, we went fishing, and then had a family day outdoors. No one really caught anything, but had lots of nibbles. Definitely will try again soon.

On Sunday, the kids were at the farm as I had to work and Jeffey went on a few fire calls. Then we cleaned the cabin, moved cows home, and had a nap. THEN we went and flew kites! I forgot how fun it was to fly a kite! We sure had fun with Papa and his kites!
Hugs to all!

Cut some calories....

Cut 100 calories ... at breakfast
Ditch the Pop-Tart for a slice of high-fiber toast with strawberry jam.
Gotta have carbs? Split a bagel with a co-worker.
Drink your two cups of joe black. Or order a single espresso instead of your usual latté.
Swap OJ for the real deal—one fresh orange.
Trade a side of regular sausage for turkey.
Top your waffles with Reddi-wip instead of syrup (or use sugar-free).
Skip the whip on any Caribou Coffee 16-ounce drink.
Eat your granola from a 4-ounce mug, not an 8-ounce bowl.
Lose the Yoplait Thick & Creamy and have a Yoplait Fiber 1.
Order pancakes, but hold the butter.
Scramble together four egg whites instead of two whole eggs.
Substitute nonfat cream cheese for regular on your bagel.
Cut 100 calories ... during dessert
Stop eating when you hit the crust. The edges and bottoms of baked goods are especially caloric because they absorb the butter used to grease the pan.
Fill your bowl with sorbet instead of ice cream—you can have an extra 1/2 cup of the former and still slash calories.
Next time a cocoa craving hits, ditch the dish of chocolate ice cream (about 3/4 cup) for a Fudgsicle.
Have sugar-free Jell-O instead of pudding. Better your nighttime treat jiggle than your thighs.
Go ahead and have that piece of birthday cake—just scrape off the chocolate frosting first.
Eat five meringue cookies instead of two chocolate chip ones.
Pass on the à la mode and savor that brownie au naturel.
Can the cone. Have your ice cream in a bowl.
Top your dessert with 1/2 cup of fresh berries instead of 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup.

Cut 100 calories ... at lunch
Leave the Swiss cheese out of your sandwich.
Slather your bread with mustard rather than mayo and save 80 calories per tablespoon.
Pass up croutons at the salad bar.
Use up to 10 pumps of ranch dressing spray instead of pouring 2 tablespoons from a bottle.
Devour a slice of Pizza Hut cheese pan pizza instead of the meat lover's variety.
Take your iced tea unsweetened.
Reach for a Snapple raspberry white tea instead of a Snapple raspberry iced tea.
Stuff chicken salad into a whole-wheat pita instead of between slices of multigrain bread.
Make your burger turkey, not beef.
Slurp minestrone soup instead of cream of anything.
Go bunless—shed your hamburger roll.
Use south-of-the-border savvy: Have a quesadilla made with two 6-inch corn, not flour, tortillas.
Two or more pizza slices? Blot off the grease with a napkin.

Cut 100 calories ... in the kitchen
Substitute nonfat Greek yogurt for a serving of sour cream.
Use chicken broth (low-sodium is best) instead of oil to sauté meat and veggies.
Making homemade mac 'n cheese? Cut 2 tablespoons of butter from the recipe.
Replace the oil or butter in cakes with Sunsweet Lighter Bake prune-and-apple mixture or any brand of unsweetened applesauce.
Next time you make meatballs, meatloaf, or burgers, go half-and-half with ground beef and turkey.
When preparing packaged foods that call for butter or oil, like rice and stuffing, use a broth instead.
Swap low-fat cottage cheese for whole-milk ricotta when you make lasagna or stuffed shells.
Use tuna packed in water, not oil.
Cut 100 calories ... at happy hour
Nurse a single glass of wine instead of downing two beers.
Ask for your rum and cokes in a highball glass. Bartenders pour an average of 20 percent less liquid into taller tumblers, so you'll swig less per round.
Drizzle extra hot sauce, not blue cheese or ranch dressing, on your wings.
Ordering a cocktail? Make it on the rocks instead of frozen. Slushy fruit drinks tend to be made with bottled mixers that contain added sugar and syrups.
Blending your own? Have a daiquiri, not a piña colada.
Pop the cap off of an MGD 64 instead of a bottle of Killian's Irish Red.
Sip a glass of water between drinks—pacing yourself can help you cut back by a glass or more.
Dip your nachos in salsa rather than guacamole.
For automatic portion control, sip wine from a Champagne flute, not an oversize goblet.
Mix your vodka with Red Bull Sugarfree, not cranberry juice.
Cut 100 calories ... at the drive-thru
Pass up a Wendy's baked potato with sour cream and chives and chow down on value fries instead. Amazing but true.
Have a McDonald's cheeseburger instead of a Quarter Pounder with cheese.
Downsize your drink: Trade a large fountain soda (with ice) for a medium.
Go for grill marks. Order a flame-broiled chicken sandwich rather than one that's breaded (and usually fried in oil).
Treat yourself to an ice-cream cone at McDonald's instead of Dairy Queen.
Crunch on one Taco Bell regular taco instead of a Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco. And all the hot sauce you want.
Slurp a cup of Panera Bread's low-fat chicken noodle soup instead of the cream of chicken with wild rice.
Make your daily pick-me-up at Starbucks a skinny vanilla latté, not a regular.
Skip the two packets of BBQ sauce—eat your burger and fries plain.

Cut 100 calories ... on your snack break
Drink sparkling water instead of soda.
Move your stash of Hershey's Kisses at least 6 feet away from your desk—you'll dip in half as often.
Drain the heavy syrup from your can of fruit cocktail and then rinse the fruit with water before digging in.
Have 1/2 cup of fresh grapes instead of that little snack box of raisins.
Lay off the Lay's Classic potato chips and have a handful of Rold Gold pretzels.
Munch on a bag of Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Kettle Korn, not Movie Theater Butter flavor.
Chase down the ice-cream truck for a Good Humor vanilla sandwich, not a King Cone.
Satisfy a crunch craving with baby carrots, not potato chips.

Cut 100 calories ... when you're not cooking
Request the lemon chicken with white rice, not fried.
Skip the crunchy noodles with your bowl of wonton soup.
Ask for an order of Szechuan Shrimp instead of your usual General Tso's.
Choose the pasta with 1/2 cup of marinara instead of 1/2 cup of Alfredo sauce.
Indulge your inner carnivore with beef stroganoff, not meat lasagna.
Go with the baked potato (butter only), not the mashed, as your side of choice.
Dip your dinner roll in marinara sauce instead of olive oil.
Avoid anything breaded. Flour and bread crumbs not only add calories but also absorb more cooking oil.
Pop 12 pieces of sashimi and 1/3 cup of edamame, not 12 pieces of spicy tuna roll.

WHicH wAy iS uP?

Crazy life I have.....
Wednesday morning, I worked until 8:45 am. Yep, nearly 12 hours.... nearly killed me! WHEW! I had next to none sleep the day before because of the phone ringing during the day, kids fetching, ect. ect.... So, then Thursday, I went to Rapid and Ma accompanied me. We went for my back Dr. appointment, and he referred me onto another Dr. on the 30th of this month... BUT, we had some great conversations(uninterrupted) and awesome Chinese food.... then we went to H.L., Michael's, TJ Max, Goodman's, Scheels, and Sam's club. We got home about 10:45 last night. WHEW! I was tired!!!! ( came home and fell into bed, took the night off work.) Today, the kids and I headed out to help Gma with the chores. Papa is at a farming conference in N. Dakota. So, she needs the help. Unckie and Auntie were there too with M.J. YEA! We had a great day with kite flying, dirt bike riding, cow moving, 4-wheeling, and jumpaline-ing.
Now, Grandma B and Grandpa B are here from Paxton for the weekend. They are here for the wrestling Tourney in Chadron, and Matt's Birthday. YEA! He is loving having them here!
Okay, Congrats to Trish on the the re-newed engagement, and AWESOME new ring! YIPPEEE!!!!
P.s. I lost 7.4 lbs this week! Ma lost too.... YEA! It's working!

My Baby Boy is 7!!!

...today Matt-man is seven years old! I cannot believe that the time has flown by so quickly! Andy and Matt are about 21 months apart... and that made for some pretty crazy days and nights. Matt was born during calving season, so G-ma and Papa couldn't come down to help. SO, they listened on the phone when he was born. SO precious of a baby he was, so soft, and cuddly. He had such cute hair tufts.... like a little teddy bear! He has grown into a very inquisitive little man who loves Star Wars, rocks, antlers, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He loves snuggling with us, and is a compassionate little man. I love you little Matt-Man! Have a wonderful day!
(I didn't get the digital camera until 10-05, so no baby pics on the slide show...Sorry!?)

Rub-a-dub-dub, a cell phone....

in the wash tub.... Yep, washed my phone! MAJOR TRAGEDY!
Dial cell phone 9-1-1!!!
So, I called Alltel, and they suggested that I take the battery out, then put it in the freezer for a couple of hours. Then plug it into the recharger without the battery. It may still work, and only need a new battery.

YES, it worked! And, I got on e-bay and bought a new battery for $4.85! Except it won't be here for 3 to 5 days! UGH!
So, I guess communications are halted for the time being!

Hugs,

Whirlwind of activity!

Yep, this past week has been.....WHEW!
I went to the Omaha Symphony with Trish. Jess, Lori, and Mama C. What a wonderful, beautiful, privilege it was to see them play. WOW! We were so impressed! Plus, we went for Chinese before, and I didn't eat like I used to. YEA! I am so proud of myself!
Saturday, we went to Gordon for wrestling. Papa rode with and Gma caught up with us there. The boys had some tough matches, and it was a generally tough day!
Matt got 3rd. (pinned a guy)
Andy 4th. (He beat the guy who got 1st in points 12-4) Then got pinned by Trevor Lund....
Meggie went with her god-cousin Haley for the day! Yea! She had a great time.... thanks Hay!
Andy I went to the Closet in Gordon to shop for purses! Yea I GOT FOUR new ones for $85. Andy got REALLY bored, and began trying on TONS of bracelets.... Funny boy! At least he got over his loss at the Tourney. He had huge expectations for himself, and didn't complete them....
Oh, well....
Well, I GOT BUMPED! Back to the 9 P.M. job...... oh well. Happy to have a job....
Have a great day!

This is tough!

Okay, weight loss stalled for me this week. I think a combination of not exercising EVERY day this week, and a few beers caused a stall,a nd a 1 .4 pound gain! YIKES!
Mom lost! YEA!!!!! YIPPEE!!! She is doing great!!!!
I have vowed to do better this week.... I have already started walking to work two days ago. That has helped too.
Okay, Misty had her baby! His name is Jett, and he weighed in over 8 lbs. I can't wait to meet him! CONGRATS, guys!
Have a great day!
Off to work and then to the dinner and the Concert with a few gal pals! YEA!!!
